In today's world we're bombarded with clutter at every level: visually, informationally, emotionally. So how can you capture the supersaturated attention of your customers? SIMPLE.
This was the theme for a webcast sponsored by Getty Images that I listened to the other day. Pam Grossman, Lead Americas Creative Researcher at Getty Images, summed up the current trends in advertising imagery in 8 points all related to "the simple". Today's visual messages in our complicated, stressed-out world are often the anti-venom to what's currently bringing us down. The current trends were categorized as: unvarnished, immersive, sensory, green & good, elemental, retrospective, comforting, and recentering. Sounds like the agenda for a yoga retreat? Perhaps. Or maybe it's just that advertisers and their brain trusts realize that we are all searching for the simple.

Comments for Trend Spotting from the Visual Image Bank. It's simple.
